Lauren Ulisse

PRESIDENT

MAJORS: Chemistry
MINOR: Spanish Studies
HOMETOWN: North Kingstown, RI

BIO: Lauren is an active member of the Eta class in Phi Delta Epsilon. In addition to Phi Delta Epsilon, Lauren is a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, Order of Omega, Clemson’s Honors College, and participates in synthetic organic chemistry research with Dr. Whitehead’s group in Clemson’s chemistry department. Within the next year, Lauren will be applying to medical school. In her free time, Lauren enjoys spending time with friends and family, working out, cheering on Clemson sports teams, listening to music, and spending any free time outside.

  Lauren’s goal for Phi Delta Epsilon is to continue to cultivate an inviting community in which all members can support each other through their journey’s to medical school. Additionally, Lauren believes that Phi Delta Epsilon SC Beta fosters strong medical candidates that actively achieve their goals. Lauren hopes to serve as a welcoming resource for the South Carolina Beta chapter and all of its members.

Michele Scaglione

VICE PRESIDENT OF PROGRAMMING

MAJOR: Health Science
HOMETOWN: Sparta, NJ

BIO: Michele is a member of the Zeta class in PhiDE at Clemson. Along with PhiDE, Michele is a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and is President of Actively Moving Forward, an organization dedicated to supporting young college students experiencing grief. For work, Michele serves as a pharmacy technician at Hubbard/Young pharmacy in Clemson and is an EMT back home in New Jersey. Michele also volunteers with Clemson FIMRC, a non-profit that provides healthcare for medically underserved communities around the world.

Additionally, Michele participates in research at Greenville Memorial Hospital focused on analyzing different ketamine dosing strategies for trauma patients. Outside of school, Michele loves fitness/F45, cats, listening to music, and most importantly, spending time with her family. Michele’s goal for PhiDE this year is to build stronger friendships and camaraderie within the chapter. 

Audrey Stephenson

VICE PRESIDENT OF RECRUITMENT

MAJOR: Biological Sciences
MINOR: Spanish
HOMETOWN: Libertyville, IL

BIO: Audrey is a member of PhiDE’s Zeta class at Clemson University. This past year, she served as the Recruitment Chair for PhiDE, which allowed her to closely assist in planning and executing recruitment events. Outside of PhiDE, she is a member of Order of Omega, Clemson Miracle, FCA, and Clemson Watersports Club. During her free time, Audrey enjoys spending time with friends, waterskiing, playing intramural sports, and reading. 

Audrey’s goal for PhiDE is to strengthen the fraternity through bringing in exceptional members who have a true passion for medicine. She also will strive to focus on creating closer bonds between current members to maintain and further build the high levels of friendship and closeness found within our fraternity.

Eva Claire (Claire) Ayala

VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE

MAJOR: Nursing
HOMETOWN: Asheville, NC

BIO: Claire is a member of Zeta class in Phi Delta Epsilon. Apart from her role in PhiDE, she works as a Certified Nursing Assistant at a Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care Facility. She is a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, which helped raise over $100,000 for breast cancer research and education this past year. She also serves on the Executive Board of National Alzheimer's Buddies, which serves a local facility that cares for those who have Alzheimer's and pairs them with a buddy. She enjoys volunteering with ClemsonLIFE and working on her Creative Inquiry team, where she works to create more straightforward ways to explain STEM concepts to middle-school-aged children. She also enjoys spending time with friends, baking, and watching true-crime documentaries.

Claire's goal for PhiDE is to raise $10,000 for the Children's Miracle Network. She believes that the Children's Miracle Network is a fantastic organization that helps millions of children and their families, and she is passionate about assisting them to continue their mission. She is dedicated to increasing our chapters' aid in their mission and believes that PhiDE and the Clemson community can significantly benefit this organization.

Sebastian Saenz

SECRETARY/RISK MANAGEMENT OFFICER

MAJOR: Bioengineering
MINOR: Chemistry
HOMETOWN: Franklin Lakes, NJ

BIO: Sebastian is a member of Zeta class at Clemson’s chapter of PhiDE. Aside from PhiDE, he is an active member of the Bioengineering Student Advisory council at Clemson where he serves as a liaison between the student’s and faculty of the BIOE department. Additionally, Sebastian participates in the CURES program where he shadows the ER at Greenville Memorial Hospital and conducts research on seatbelt signs and abdominal contusions. Back in his hometown he volunteers as an EMT. In his free time Sebastian likes to spend time with friends and family, read, listen to music, and try new foods and restaurants.

Sebastian’s goal for PhiDE is to create a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes the diversity of society, both in and out of the healthcare field. He believes it is important to discuss these matters and to provide opportunities for our members to be educated on topics of discrimination whether it is race, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, religion, and more. Additionally, as SRMO Sebastian is committed to documenting memories and upholding a positive public image for PhiDE.

Kian Lari

COLONY COORDINATOR

MEDICAL STUDENT: USC Greenville School of Medicine
HOMETOWN: Greenville, SC

BIO: Kian is our colony coordinator, as he is who brought PhiDE to Clemson's campus. He serves as the middle man between our chapter and the national Phi Delta Epsilon organization. Kian enjoys playing intramural sports like football and soccer and also enjoy camping, fishing, and hiking.

​His goal for PhiDE is to establish it as Clemson's most prominent and helpful medical group on campus. He says, "I hope to harbor a sense of togetherness in an extraordinary group of people who are hoping to brave new challenges and step out of their comfort zone. My ultimate goal is to leave the group better than when we found it. "
